CHRISTIAN Horner, team principle of Red Bull Formula One team, is under investigation after an allegation of inappropriate behaviour was made against him by another member of the team.
Although the nature of the allegation is not known to the public, sources at the BBC believe it to be a complaint of controlling behaviour, something Red Bull have confirmed they are taking “extremely seriously”.
Horner has said that he “completely denies” the allegations.
Red Bull have said in a team statement: “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation.
“This process, which is already under way, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister.
“The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
Horner took charge of the F1 team in 2005, becoming the youngest team principle in history at 31-years-old, overseeing six constructors championships in this time.
He also received a CBE in the New Year’s Honour List following Red Bull’s record breaking season, winning 21 of 22 races.
Red Bull have scheduled to launch their new car on the 15th of February.
