England aim to keep their unbeaten run alive at the Rugby World Cup

Tomorrow afternoon England will take on Samoa in the final game of their Rugby World Cup Pool Stage at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille.

So far in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, England are undefeated after beating Argentina, Japan and Chile in their opening three games.

Samoa have been in and out of form so far this World Cup as after breezing past Chile in their opening game of the tournament, the Samoans lost to both Argentina and Japan.

Steve Borthwick’s men have less pressure on them as they have already qualified for next week’s Quarter Finals after Japan beat Samoa last Thursday.

After only taking charge in December last year many people had little expectations of Borthwick’s England team. However, some of his harshest critics have started to believe once again.

For the first time since March 2021 England will use the iconic Ford – Farrell axis, with George Ford starting at fly half and England Captain, Owen Farrell, starting at inside centre. This long-standing England duo were crucial towards the 2019 World Cup run where England reached the final in Japan.

Winchester born Joe Marchant has gone from representing Hampshire Rugby in the past to starting on the wing for England at the biggest stage. Marchant has played in all of England’s World Cup games so far and even scored a try against Japan earlier on in the tournament, becoming a key name in the England squad.
