AS the festive period draws closer lets take a look at an XI of players whose names are full of festive spirit!
GK: ‘Sleigh Given’.
Safe hands ‘Sleigh’ made 451 Premier League appearances for the likes of Newcastle, Man City, Stoke and Aston Villa

CB: John ‘Terry’s chocolate orange’
Beginning our back three is John ‘Terrys chocolate orange’. The five time Premier League winner brings a new meaning to the phrase ‘tap it and unwrap it’.

CB: ‘Panettone’ Adams
Much like Tony in his playing days, this festive treat is often soaked in rum or wine!

CB: ‘Santa’ Claus Lundekvam.
Completing our defence trio is Norwegian defender ‘Santa’ Claus Lundekvam . Lundekvam made over 400 appearances for Southampton across two decades at St Marys.

LM: Lewis ‘deck the’ Hall(s)
The first current player in our 11, Lewis will be hope to be ‘decking the halls’ up and down that left side for the full 90

CM: Dennis Wise-(man)
Dennis Wise will be looking to use his literal and metaphorical wisdom as he anchors the midfield of our Christmas XI.

CM: Sandro ‘Mistletoe-nali’
Sandro ‘Mistletoe-nali’ is the next addition to our team. The Italian adds continental class to our midfield trio.

CM: Fabian D-elf.
Infamous for his disloyalty towards Aston Villa, it doesn’t look like Fabian D-elf will be getting on the nice list this year.

RM: Angel Di-Maria,
Far from an angel, especially if you are of a Manchester United persuasion, the Argentinian completes the midfield.

ST: Andy ‘Christmas’ Carroll.
Beginning our front line is Andy ‘Christmas’ Carroll. Let’s hope for festivities sake his singing voice is better than his injury record (or his haircut)

ST: ‘Ruudolph’ Van Nistlerooy.
Leading the line for our team and Santa’s sleigh this Christmas is ‘Ruudolph’ Van Nistlerooy. Fingers crossed he’s as good a reindeer as he was penalty box striker.

Manager: Jose Mourinho-ho-ho.
In the dugout is Mr. Scrooge himself, Jose Mourinho-ho-ho. Naturally he’ll have our team playing in a Christmas tree formation.
