Wicketz is a free Cricket community program that offers young people from all walks of life the chance to play Cricket.
A notoriously expensive sport to play, Wicketz being a free to play program is revolutionary for Cricket in the UK.
Southampton has three locations within the city offering the program at Cantell school, Mayfield and the St Mary’s leisure centre in the heart of the city.
We went to one of their sessions at the St Mary’s leisure centre, where we spoke to award winning coach Hamza Khan, who has been involved in Wicketz as a player and coach for seven years.
We also spoke Karanveer Koneer, who participates in Wicketz’s hard ball and soft ball programs.
